The race to the Governor’s seat at the Oke-Mosan Governor’s Office looks a mountain too high to climb for the non-experienced duo of Biyi Otegbeye and Ladi Adebutu. In fact, both of them have no political stability and strength capable enough to wrestle power from the APC’s Prince Dapo Abiodun. The two should rather face each other to engage in a piggy fight, in order to determine who comes second and third respectively. I make bold to say the first position is settled already for Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The clarity of His Excellency winning at the coming poll is not only aided by a mere issue of the power of incumbency, but the wide spread acceptability of the hardworking Governor, who has greatly impacted all sectors across all strata of life.
“The older the wine, the better the taste”, it is crystal clear that the wise decision of Ogun people would no doubt favour Governor Abiodun, who is already experienced in the job compared to the rookies who seeks to occupy the office at the moment.
Fortunately, the position of a Governor is not one anyone would assume to learn on the job. Clearly not! It will be suicidal to allow 1, 2, 1, 2 Microphone testing of such magnitude of office in our State like a popular fuji and afro-juju DJ in our locality as seen in the statures of both theatrical characters of Biyi Otegbeye and Ladi Adebutu to assume such most exalted and highest political office in our dearest Ogun State.
Even while BOT and Lado are struggling to campaign, the few places they have been to, they utilise the social infrastructure built by the administration of Governor Dapo, but they keep going about making false statements about infrastructures in Ogun State and one is left to wonder if they flew to the various places they have been to; one also wonder whether they shut their eyes to the yellow roofs that gave transformational changes to Schools, Fire Stations and our health centres everywhere in Ogun State.
The governing adventures of Governor Dapo is so delightful to virtually everyone in the State, even those that are outside the State often extend commendations. The awards for best performances in various fields came in handy, ranging from Agriculture, technology, healthcare system, Security etc. These huge recognitions and commendations don’t come easy; they are indicators that helped Ogun State to pride itself amongst the comity of fast developing States in Nigeria.
The last time we had a Governor that stayed woke to the importance and rejuvenation of the youths sector was over a decade ago. Governor Abiodun through sports development had helped catapult Ogun State into limelight again, by helping some of our indigenous sports men and women achieve their aims, goals and targets through several interventions both able-bodied and disabled athletes. Best of them all is the National Sports Festival hosting right that is coming home in the next edition. Ogun State, would again, be open to boost its public and private businesses across board. More sporting sensational men and women will be discovered and helped to achieve their dreams in the process, thereby shooting us into human and economic prosperity.
Governor Abiodun’s administration has gone into the book of history as one that adequately catered for all the three (3) Senatorial Districts in terms of equitable distribution of social infrastructures. His administration would also be greatly noted for the fastest constructed International Agro-cargo Airport in Nigeria; having witnessed the landing of a test-flight within a year of the start of the historic project.
The coming four (4) years of the administration of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, by the grace of God, is one that will launch Ogun State into further greater development and unmatched economic trajectory. All we need do is vote him for second term on the 18th of March, 2023. The best is yet to come as he has envisioned an Ogun State that can compete with the growth rate of Lagos State. Thankfully, this is no making mouth, the indices are there for all to see and of course, Governor Abiodun is set to punch in the keys and activate the ignition that would drive the vehicle of where we need to be as a State.
